Bed bugs are hematophagous, feeding exclusively on the blood of mammals (primarily humans) at night
Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal parasites that hide in tight spaces during the day. This image shows 'spotting' or 'fecal spotting' which is digested blood excreted after feeding.
Risks & Benefits
Risks include itchy skin welts, allergic reactions, secondary skin infections from scratching, and psychological stress; not known to transmit diseases.
