Behavior Patterns

They are photophobic (avoid light) and thrive in humidity above 60%. They have a rapid life cycle and can appear as 'moving dust' when populations explode.

Risks & Benefits

Non-biting, but can cause 'grocer's itch' (allergic dermatitis) and respiratory allergies/asthma in sensitive individuals. They can contaminate stored food products but serve as decomposers in nature.
