Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal and move with a quick, fish-like swimming motion. They undergo ametabolous metamorphosis (lacking a pupal stage) and can live for several years.

They are nuisance pests that can damage books and household items. They do not bite or transmit diseases to humans, but can trigger allergies in some people.
