Size: 12–19 mm (0.5–0.75 in) for adults; nymphs are significantly smaller but grow progressively larger with each molt.

Natural Habitat
Dark, damp, and humid environments found in homes, such as bathrooms, basements, attics, and kitchens; often found near paper, glue, or fabrics.
Diet & Feeding
Starchy carbohydrates such as paper, glue, book bindings, sugar, photos, wallpaper paste, and fabrics like cotton or linen.
Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal and extremely fast-moving; they shun light and are known for their 'wiggle' motion similar to a fish swimming. They molt throughout their lives, even as adults.
Risks & Benefits
Risks: Considered a household pest because they can damage property (books, wallpaper, clothes) and contaminate food. Benefits: They do not bite or sting humans and do not spread disease; they act as decomposers in nature.
