Natural Habitat
Close proximity to human sleeping areas such as mattresses, bed frames, and upholstered furniture.
Diet & Feeding
Obligate hematophages, primarily feeding on human blood.
Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal parasites that hide in cracks and crevices during the day and emerge at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult).
Risks & Benefits
High risk of skin rashes, allergic reactions, and psychological distress. They are difficult to eradicate but are not known to transmit diseases to humans.
