Opportunistic carnivore eating various small invertebrates including ants, beetles, spiders, and earthworms

Behavior Patterns

Primarily nocturnal and terrestrial. They lack lungs and breathe entirely through their skin. Known for secreting a very sticky, glue-like mucus when threatened.

Risks & Benefits

Benefits the ecosystem by controlling insect populations. The mucus can be difficult to remove from skin but is not toxic to humans; however, they are sensitive to environmental pollutants.
