Forms passively through electrostatic attraction and air currents. Tends to grow larger over time in undisturbed areas.

Generally harmless, but large accumulations can exacerbate allergies in sensitive individuals due to trapped dust and allergens. Benefits include being an indicator of areas needing cleaning.
