Ghost Spider (molt)
Scientific Name: Phrurolithidae (formerly Clubionidae)
Order & Family: Araneae, Phrurolithidae
Size: Generally small, adult body length typically ranging from 3 to 10 millimeters.

Natural Habitat
While specific species vary, Phrurolithidae spiders are typically found in various terrestrial habitats including leaf litter, under rocks, bark, and in grasslands and forests. They are often ground-dwelling or found on low vegetation.
Diet & Feeding
Predatory. Ghost spiders are active hunters that ambush and capture small insects and other arthropods. They do not typically build webs for prey capture.
Behavior Patterns
The image appears to show a spider's exuvia, or shed exoskeleton, rather than a living spider. Spiders molt (shed their exoskeletons) as they grow. Phrurolithidae are known for their fast-running and active hunting behavior, particularly at night. They are typically solitary.
Risks & Benefits
Ghost spiders are generally harmless to humans. They are not considered medically significant and bites are rare. As predators of small insects, they contribute to natural pest control in their ecosystems.
