Diet & Feeding
Feeds on microscopic mold, fungi, starches, and organic debris.
Behavior Patterns
Fast-moving, wingless in many indoor species, and prefers dark, moist areas. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis.
Risks & Benefits
Generally harmless to humans but can contaminate stored food products and damage old book bindings in large numbers.
