Natural Habitat

Diet & Feeding
Feeds primarily on dead human and animal skin flakes (dander).
Behavior Patterns
Dust mites are microscopic and not visible to the naked eye. They thrive in environments high in humidity and feed on organic detritus. They do not bite people, but their feces and decomposed body parts are major components of house dust and common allergens.
Risks & Benefits
Potential risks include being a significant allergen for many people, triggering asthma attacks, allergic rhinitis, and eczema. There are no known benefits to humans or the ecosystem, as they are primarily considered pests in indoor environments.
