Intestinal contents and materials from the intestinal lining.

Behavior Patterns

Nocturnal activity where the female worm migrates from the colon to the perianal area to lay eggs at night. Eggs become infectious within hours.

Risks & Benefits

Causes enterobiasis, leading to intense itching, sleep disturbance, and irritability. While uncomfortable, they are generally not considered dangerous to life and do not provide ecosystem benefits.
