Diet & Feeding
In the earlier larval and later adult stages, they are carnivorous, primarily eating aphids, scale insects, and mites; the pupa stage does not feed.
Behavior Patterns
The pupa is the non-feeding life stage between the larva and the adult. It remains attached to a substrate, such as a leaf, and undergoes metamorphosis for about 3-12 days.
Risks & Benefits
Highly beneficial to the ecosystem and gardeners as a natural pest control agent for garden-destroying aphids. They pose no risk to humans.
