Damp, warm environments often inside buildings, kitchens, libraries, or under tree bark and in bird nests.

Diet & Feeding

Feed on microscopic mold, fungi, starches, and organic debris found in glue (book bindings) or stored grains.

Behavior Patterns

Prefer high humidity (above 60%); they are wingless, fast-running scavengers that reproduce rapidly in moist conditions.

Risks & Benefits

Harmless to humans as they do not bite or spread disease, but can be a nuisance or cause minor damage to books and stored food products.
