Behavior Patterns

They lay their eggs (nits) in the seams of clothing and are typically spread through direct contact or sharing infested textiles. Unlike head lice, they live primarily on garments.

Risks & Benefits

Risks include intense itching, allergic reactions, and skin rashes. They are significant vectors for serious diseases such as epidemic typhus, trench fever, and louse-borne relapsing fever. There are no ecological benefits.
