Found indoors worldwide, particularly in textiles like mattresses, carpets, upholstered furniture, and bedding where humidity is high.

Diet & Feeding

Behavior Patterns

They thrive in warm, humid environments (70-80% humidity). They do not bite or live on people, but spend their life cycle within household dust and fabrics.

Risks & Benefits

They are a major source of allergens. Enzymes in their waste (feces) and decaying body parts can trigger asthma, eczema, and allergic rhinitis in sensitive individuals. They provide no significant benefits to humans.
