Size: 0.3 mm - 0.7 mm (very small, barely visible to the naked eye)

Natural Habitat
Found in stored food products (grains, cereals, cheese, dried fruit, pet food) and damp environments; can also be found in nests of birds and rodents.
Diet & Feeding
Feeds on a wide range of stored food products, especially those high in protein and fat, and fungal spores.
Behavior Patterns
Thrives in high humidity (above 65%) and temperatures between 20-25°C. Rapid reproduction under favorable conditions. Commonly found in large numbers, giving a dusty appearance or distinctive sweetish odor to infested materials.
Risks & Benefits
Risks: Can cause significant damage and spoilage to stored food products, leading to economic losses. May cause allergic reactions (dermatitis, rhinitis, asthma) in sensitive individuals when present in large numbers or when infested food is consumed. Benefits: Generally considered a pest, with no known significant benefits to humans or ecosystems.
