Absorbs nutrients from the semi-digested food and debris within the human host's intestine.

Behavior Patterns

Nocturnal migration; gravid females travel to the perianal area at night to deposit eggs, causing itching which facilitates egg dispersal through scratching.

Risks & Benefits

Risk: Causes Enterobiasis, characterized by intense rectal itching, irritability, and sleeplessness. Generally not life-threatening but highly contagious within households.
