Behavior Patterns
Mainly nocturnal; they hide during the day and emerge at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis through five nymphal stages, requiring a blood meal between each stage.

They do not transmit diseases but their bites can cause itchy welts, allergic reactions, and significant psychological distress. They have no known benefits to the ecosystem or humans.
