Natural Habitat
Indoor environments with high humidity, often found in stored books, papers, food products, and damp areas like bathrooms or kitchens. They feed on microscopic mold and fungi growing on organic matter.
Diet & Feeding
Microscopic mold, fungi, starch, glue in book bindings, wallpaper paste, cereal products, and other organic debris.
Behavior Patterns
Booklice are small, soft-bodied insects that are typically very skittish and move quickly when disturbed. They are sensitive to humidity and thrive in damp conditions. Most species are wingless or have reduced wings.
Risks & Benefits
