Behavior Patterns

The female mite burrows into the upper layer of skin to lay eggs, creating tiny zigzagging tracks. These burrows cause intense itching, especially at night when the mites are more active.

Risks & Benefits

Risk: Causes Scabies, a highly contagious skin infection characterized by severe itching and rashes. If left untreated, scratching can lead to secondary bacterial infections like impetigo or cellulitis. There are no known benefits.
