Size: Individual segments are approximately 3-12 mm (size of a grain of rice or cucumber seed).

Natural Habitat
The small intestine of mammals (dogs, cats, humans) as adults; environment (soil/carpet) as expelled segments.
Diet & Feeding
Absorbs pre-digested nutrients directly from the host's intestinal tract through their skin (teguement).
Behavior Patterns
Segments break off from the main worm body and are passed in feces. They are motile (can crawl) for a short period to disperse eggs.
Risks & Benefits
Risks: Parasitic infection causing abdominal discomfort, itching (perianal), and weight loss. Benefits: None; they are harmful parasites.
