Order & Family: Orthoptera, Rhaphidophoridae
Size: Typically 1/2 to 1 inch (1.2 - 2.5 cm) in body length, but can be larger.

Natural Habitat
Damp, dark environments such as caves, basements, cellars, crawl spaces, and under logs or stones.
Diet & Feeding
Opportunistic omnivores, feeding on fungi, decaying organic matter, other insects (both living and dead), and sometimes even fabric or wood.
Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal, wingless, and known for their long antennae and powerful jumping legs. They often congregate in damp areas.
Risks & Benefits
Generally harmless to humans, though they can be considered a nuisance pest when indoors due to their presence and droppings. They play a minor role in decomposition in their natural habitats.
