Size: 1 to 2 mm in length

Damp, warm areas with high humidity, such as old books, wallpaper glue, pantries, and leaky crawl spaces.

Microscopic mold, fungi, starches, and organic debris found in household items.

They are wingless and known for their jerky running movements; they thrive in moist conditions and may disappear when humidity levels drop.

Generally harmless to humans and do not bite; however, large numbers can damage book bindings or contaminate stored dry goods.
