Lawn Prawn (or Landhopper / Lawn Shrimp)

Natural Habitat

Found in moist environments, often in leaf litter, mulch, damp topsoil, or under rocks. They are frequently swept indoors during heavy rains or when outside conditions become too dry.

Diet & Feeding

Detritivores: They feed on decaying plant matter, such as rotting leaves and wood.

Risks & Benefits

Risks: None to humans or pets; they do not bite, sting, or damage structures. Benefits: They are beneficial decomposers, breaking down organic matter and recycling nutrients back into the soil.
