Natural Habitat
Commonly found in residential dwellings, especially in mattresses, bed frames, and crevices near sleeping areas.
Diet & Feeding
Obligate hematophagy (feeds exclusively on blood, primarily from humans).
Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal, hiding during the day and emerging at night to feed. They are wingless and spread through human travel and hitchhiking on luggage or clothing.
Risks & Benefits
A major pest that causes itchy welts and psychological distress. While not known to transmit diseases, heavy infestations can lead to secondary skin infections or anemia.
