Size: 4 mm to 7 mm long as adults

Typically found in cracks, crevices, and soft surfaces such as mattresses and sofas inside residential areas.

Obligate hematophages; they feed exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded regular hosts, primarily humans.

They are nocturnal, peaking in activity just before dawn. They reproduce through traumatic insemination and can lay hundreds of eggs in a lifetime.

They do not transmit diseases, but their bites can cause allergic reactions, skin rashes, and psychological distress including anxiety and insomnia.
