Natural Habitat

Diet & Feeding
Obligate hematophages; they feed exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded regular hosts, primarily humans.
Behavior Patterns
They are nocturnal, peaking in activity just before dawn. They reproduce through traumatic insemination and can lay hundreds of eggs in a lifetime.
Risks & Benefits
They do not transmit diseases, but their bites can cause allergic reactions, skin rashes, and psychological distress including anxiety and insomnia.
