Natural Habitat

Strictly hematophagous, meaning they feed exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, primarily humans.
Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal insects that emerge from hiding at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult) and require a blood meal for each life stage.
Risks & Benefits
A significant urban pest that causes itchy welts and psychological distress. While not known to transmit diseases, they can cause allergic reactions and secondary skin infections from scratching.
