Natural Habitat

Omnivorous scavengers that eat almost anything, including food scraps, grease, starches, glue, hair, and soap.
Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal and highly gregarious. They reproduce faster than any other residential cockroach species. Nymphs, like the one pictured, go through several molts before reaching maturity.
Risks & Benefits
They are major household pests. Risks include the transmission of bacteria (Salmonella, E. coli), contamination of food, and triggering of asthma or allergies through their droppings and shed skins.
