Natural Habitat

Diet & Feeding
Eggs do not eat; nymphs and adults are obligate hematophages, feeding exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, primarily humans.
Behavior Patterns
Eggs are laid in sticky clusters in dark, protected areas. They hatch in about 6–10 days. Adults are nocturnal and hide during the day, emerging at night to feed.
Risks & Benefits
Risks include itchy skin welts, allergic reactions, and psychological distress/insomnia. They are not known to transmit diseases to humans but are considered a significant household pest. There are no known ecological benefits for humans.
