Leaf-footed bug

Gardens, fields, and woodlands, often found feeding on plants or resting on warm surfaces like concrete or walls.

Herbivorous; feeds on plant sap using its piercing-sucking mouthparts, primarily targeting developing seeds, fruits, and stems of various plants.

Slow-moving and relies on camouflage or emitting a foul-smelling defensive odor when threatened. Overwinters as an adult.

Risks: Can be a minor agricultural and garden pest, causing damage to crops and ornamental plants by piercing fruits and seeds. Benefits: Generally harmless to humans (does not bite people unless severely provoked) and serves as prey for larger predators in the ecosystem.
