Behavior Patterns
Larvae construct a portable, spindle-shaped silken case covered with fibers from the material they are feeding on. They carry this case as they move and eventually pupate inside it.
Risks & Benefits
They are significant structural pests that cause permanent damage to clothing, rugs, and textile collections. They offer no benefits to human environments.
