Behavior Patterns
They congregate in large numbers where mold is present and reproduce rapidly in humid conditions. They are often noticed as 'moving dust' on surfaces.

They do not bite or sting humans, but their presence can cause skin irritation ('grocer's itch') or allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. They indicate a humidity or mold problem in the home.
