Size: 1 to 7 millimeters; the dark object appears to be a nymph or adult, while the yellow object may be an instar nymph or egg.

Natural Habitat
Found in human dwellings, typically in mattress seams, bed frames, and cracks or crevices near sleeping areas.
Diet & Feeding
Hematophagous; they feed exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, primarily humans.
Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal parasites that hide during the day and emerge at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis with five nymphal stages.
Risks & Benefits
They are significant structural pests that cause itchy bites and psychological distress; however, they are not known to transmit diseases to humans.
