Ground Beetle (specifically Lebiinae subfamily)

Found in leaf litter, gardens, and near homes where they are often attracted to porch lights.

Predatory as both larvae and adults; they feed on other small insects, insect eggs, and soft-bodied larvae.

Diurnal or nocturnal hunters that move quickly. Many are excellent climbers and are often found on vegetation hunting for pests.

Beneficial to ecosystems and gardens as they act as natural pest control for harmful insects; they pose no risk to humans or pets.
