Casemaking Clothes Moth (larva case)

Dark, undisturbed areas within homes such as closets, under furniture, and in storage bins where organic materials are kept.

Larvae feed on keratins found in natural fibers including wool, fur, silk, feathers, and hair.

The larva constructs a portable silken case incorporating debris and fibers. It drags this case while feeding and eventually pupates within it. They avoid light and are most active in quiet, dark spaces.

A significant domestic pest that can cause irreversible damage to clothing, upholstery, and carpets. They provide no direct benefit to the human ecosystem and are generally considered a nuisance.
