The larva constructs a portable silken case incorporating debris and fibers. It drags this case while feeding and eventually pupates within it. They avoid light and are most active in quiet, dark spaces.
Risks & Benefits
A significant domestic pest that can cause irreversible damage to clothing, upholstery, and carpets. They provide no direct benefit to the human ecosystem and are generally considered a nuisance.
