Carpet Beetle Larva

Indoor environments, carpets, furniture, closets, baseboards, and bird or insect nests.

Feeds on animal-based organic materials including wool, silk, feathers, fur, dead insects, hair, and pet dander.

Slow-moving, prefers dark and undisturbed areas. Sheds light-colored skins as it grows and goes through a complete metamorphosis into a harmless adult beetle.

Does not bite or sting humans, but can cause minor damage to natural fabrics, carpets, and clothing. The tiny hairs on larvae can sometimes cause mild allergic reactions or skin irritation (carpet beetle dermatitis).
