Bed Bug (First-stage Nymph)

Natural Habitat

Indoor environments, specifically cracks and crevices near sleeping areas such as mattresses, bed frames, and headboards.

Diet & Feeding

Strictly hematophagous; they feed exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, primarily humans.

Behavior Patterns

Nocturnal and elusive; they hide during the day and emerge at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (5 nymphal stages) and require a blood meal to molt to the next stage.

Risks & Benefits

They are significant structural pests that cause itchy welts, psychological distress, and potential allergic reactions. While not known to transmit diseases to humans, they are difficult to eradicate once an infestation begins.
