Natural Habitat
Domestic environments, specifically sleeping areas such as mattresses, bed frames, and floorboard crevices.
Diet & Feeding
Obligate hematophage, primarily feeding on human blood during the night.
Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal and elusive; they hide in dark crevices during the day and are attracted to the carbon dioxide and warmth produced by sleeping hosts.
Risks & Benefits
Can cause itchy, red welts and psychological distress from infestations; they are not known to transmit diseases but can trigger allergic reactions.
