Larvae often leave the food source to pupate in cracks, crevices, or at the junction of walls and ceilings. They produce silken webbing in the food they infest.
Risks & Benefits
Primarily a nuisance pest that causes significant economic loss by contaminating food with webbing, frass, and cast skins. They do not bite, sting, or carry diseases.
