Natural Habitat

Obligate hematophagous feeders, primarily consuming human blood but may also feed on other warm-blooded animals.
Behavior Patterns
Primarily nocturnal; they hide during the day and emerge at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymphal stages, adult) and require a blood meal for each molt.
Risks & Benefits
Risks include skin irritation, allergic reactions, and psychological distress from infestations; they are not known to transmit diseases but can cause significant economic impact. There are no known ecological benefits.
