Casemaking Clothes Moth (larva)

Indoor environments, specifically dark areas like closets, drawers, and upholstered furniture

Keratin-based materials including wool, fur, feathers, hair, felt, and silk

The larva constructs a portable protective case made of silk and fibers from its food source. It remains inside this case as it feeds and moves, eventually pupating within it.

Pest species that can cause significant damage to clothing, rugs, and natural fiber textiles; no significant benefits to humans.
