Natural Habitat

Diet & Feeding
Feeds on a wide range of stored products, including grains, cereals, flour, pasta, pet food, nuts, dried fruit, chocolate, and drug stores products.
Behavior Patterns
Able to survive in dry conditions but prefer high humidity; will infest food sources. Larvae are more destructive than adults. Females lay 200-400 eggs over their lifespan, glued directly to the food source.
Risks & Benefits
Primarily a pantry pest, causing contamination and spoilage of stored food products. Does not bite or spread diseases to humans, but can cause economic losses for households and businesses due to food waste.
