Size: Larvae are typically 1/16 to 1/2 of an inch (1.5mm to 12mm) long.

Natural Habitat
Indoor environments, particularly closets, storage areas, and carpets where natural fibers are present.
Diet & Feeding
Keratin-rich materials including wool, silk, fur, feathers, and organic lint or debris.
Behavior Patterns
Larvae construct a protective silken tube or 'case' covered in debris and fibers, which they drag with them as they feed. They are often found on ceilings or walls when preparing to pupate.
Risks & Benefits
They are serious household pests that damage clothing, upholstery, and rugs. They provide no significant benefits to humans and are considered a nuisance that requires pest control measures.
