Diet & Feeding
Larvae feed on spider webs, wool, silk, hair, and other natural organic debris.
Behavior Patterns
The larva constructs a protective silk case covered in sand, dust, and lint which it drags along as it moves. The case is open at both ends, allowing the larva to turn around inside.
Risks & Benefits
Generally considered a nuisance pest. While they do not bite humans or pets, the larvae can damage natural fiber textiles, carpets, and clothing.
