Size: 0.75 mm to 0.85 mm (about the size of a pinhead)

Natural Habitat
Commonly found in lush lawns, grassy areas, and on the sunny exterior walls of buildings. They often enter homes through cracks under doors or around windows during the spring and autumn.
Diet & Feeding
Herbivorous; they feed on the juices of more than 200 different plant species, including grass, clover, ivy, and ornamental shrubs.
Behavior Patterns
They are most active in cooler temperatures of spring and fall. They do not fly or jump and are often noticed when they occur in large numbers. When crushed, they leave a distinct reddish stain.
Risks & Benefits
They are harmless to humans and pets as they do not bite or transmit diseases. Their main risk is aesthetic, as they can cause red stains on upholstery and carpets if crushed inside a home.
