Natural Habitat

Larvae feed on organic debris, particularly 'flea dirt' (dried blood excreted by adult fleas).

Behavior Patterns

Larvae are photophobic (avoid light) and burrow deep into fibers or crevices. They undergo three molts before spinning a cocoon to pupate.
