Behavior Patterns
Fleas are wingless but possess powerful hind legs for jumping long distances. They undergo complete metamorphosis (egg, larva, pupa, adult) and often wait in cocoons until they detect vibrations or heat from a host.
Risks & Benefits
They are major pests that cause itchy, red bumps and allergic dermatitis. They can transmit diseases such as flea-borne typhus and various tapeworms. They provide no significant benefits to humans.
