Bed Bug (Indeterminate/Smashed Specimen)

Human dwellings, particularly mattresses, bed frames, headboards, and crevices near sleeping areas.

Obligate hematophages feeding primarily on human blood, but will feed on other warm-blooded animals if necessary.

Nocturnal parasites that hide in dark cracks and crevices during the day, emerging at night to feed. When crushed or squished, freshly fed bed bugs leave characteristic reddish-brown blood stains on tissues, sheets, or paper towels.

Risks: Causes itchy, red welts from bites, secondary skin infections from scratching, allergic reactions, anxiety, and severe mental distress. They do not efficiently transmit blood-borne pathogens. Benefits: None.
