Natural Habitat

Diet & Feeding
Obligate hematophagous (blood-eaters), primarily feeding on human blood, though they may also bite other warm-blooded animals.
Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal parasites that emerge at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult). Nymphs must have a blood meal to molt to the next stage.
Risks & Benefits
Risks include itchy skin rashes, psychological distress, and allergic reactions. While they harbor pathogens, they are not known to transmit diseases to humans. They provide no ecological benefits in human environments.
