Natural Habitat

Scavengers that feed on organic debris, such as adult flea feces (dried blood), skin flakes, and hair.
Behavior Patterns
Larvae are photophobic (avoid light) and burrow deep into fibers; they undergo three molts before spinning a cocoon to pupate.
Risks & Benefits
Non-biting at this stage, but indicates a flea infestation that leads to itchy bites on humans and pets; can act as an intermediate host for tapeworms.
